‘Lame duck’ Boris doing even worse than May

-

IS Boris Johnson a “lame duck” PM after losing a third vote in three days and a majority?

Not even Theresa May lost three votes during her honeymoon period. He is like a groom that can’t perform on his wedding night.

Now he wants another general election before submitting a backstop alternative. He thinks he can win a general election; Theresa May had the same idea. This time opposition parties could form an electoral alliance as they did in Brecon and Radnorshire.

This could see Tory MPs in Wales and Scotland wiped out, with similar results in England. Of course this could only happen if the Brexit party didn’t field any candidates. Which is a pipe dream as Mr Farage still believes his own spin.

Dog adoption to be applauded

WHILE Britain’s future may be uncertain, one thing is for sure: appaws are in order for Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds for choosing to save a life by adopting a dog from a shelter, rather than supporting breeders that sell animals for profit.

Every year, tens of thousands of lost, abandoned, and unwanted animals flood animal shelters around the UK, and many have to be euthanised because there aren’t enough good homes to go around. We hope Britons with the time, willingness, and resources to care for an animal will be inspired by the news of Downing Street’s canine resident and also consider making the compassionate decision to adopt a mutt from their local shelter. Speed limits are causing M4 delays

I QUITE agree with Mrs DE Davies (Echo letters, August 30) about the journey on the M4.

I used it on Bank Holiday Monday and it was OK until getting towards Tredegar Park. Then there were speed limits right up until the tunnels 60-50-40-20.

I was going to Cwmbran so it wasn’t too bad on the inside lane. It’s obvious that the cause of the tailbacks on both sides is the speed limits.

Mrs Davies asked what planet is Mark Drakeford living on. I think he is from muppet land. I wonder how often he uses the M4?

That’s the trouble with these AMs, once they are in power they do what they want, not what we – the people who put them there – want. It’s about time we had people in charge with a bit of common sense.

I really believe in our Prime Minister, he has his heart in Great Britain so give him a chance Margaret Harries Roath

Show belief and leave on October 31

ARE you one of these Britons being fooled by members of the Labour Party and the Brexit Remainers?

Why don’t you make your own minds up?

None of us will know the outcome but we leavers have a strong belief in our Prime Minister.

You all gave Mrs May a chance; why not have the courage and believe that our Prime Minister will do all he can for our wonderful country and not leave us dangling like Mrs May did?

Have the courage of your convictions and let us leave with a deal or without a deal.

I really believe in our Prime Minister, he has his heart in Great Britain so give him a chance.

Where have all your ideals gone? Don’t let the Remainers in Parliament and the Labourites get to you – deal or no deal; we will show them what we are made of; let us go for it... on October 31, with a cheer.

Margaret Harries Roath, Cardiff
