■■ On Wednesday, September 11, Conway 50+ welcome Andrew from Tools with a Mission (TWAM). Anyone with unwanted/unused hand tools for building/DIY or sewing and craft items such as buttons, zips, fabric can bring them along. TWAM will parcel up and send to people in countries who do not have these basic tools and materials. The 50+ group is held in the Conway Church Hall, entrance on Romilly Crescent, Cardiff CF11 9NT. Entrance £2, which includes tea/coffee and biscuits. The hall is open from 10.15am and the session starts at 10.45am. This is a community group run by volunteers. All over-50s welcome. ■■High Tea Bingo has commenced after the August break and takes place every second Tuesday of the month and is open to everyone who wants a bit of fun and good company. Entry is £5 and includes tea/coffee and cakes. St Mary’s Church Hall, Church Road, Whitchurch, Cardiff – 2pm for eyes down at 2.30pm.

■■The next social meeting of the Cardiff County Unison Retired Members Branch will be held at the City United Reform Church, Windsor Place, Cardiff, on Wednesday, September 11, from 10.15am to noon. The meeting will include a talk from Alison Firth of the University of the Third Age (U3A). New and current members are welcome.

■■There is presentati­on talk on 10 aspects of churches painted by Glyn Pooley in an exhibition at All Saint’s Church in Barry on Wednesday, September 25, for an hour starting at 10.45am. The talk is free, and the speaker is Karl-James Langford, author and archaeolog­ist. He will have copies of his own publicatio­ns available. For further informatio­n visit: www.glynpooley.com

■■RAFA Club, Riverside Terrace (CF5 5AR) is hosting a fundraiser for Rozmogz Reborn Cat Rescue on Friday, September 27. Tickets for Back to the 70s/80s Magic of Motown cost £5 and are available by calling 07905 841056.
