HEAD EAST FOR LONG-HAUL VALUE
TOKYO, Cape Town and Bali offer the best value for long haul winter getaways, according to a new report.
Far East favourites Vietnam and Malaysia also feature in the best value top 10 but Thailand has fallen down the barometer table as prices rise 21% in Phuket.
The impact of sterling’s slide in value has now extended beyond Europe, according to the 12th annual Post Office Travel Money Long Haul Holiday Report, produced in partnership with Travelbag.
Comparing the cost of 10 typical tourist items, including meals and drinks, it found that Japan (Tokyo), South Africa (Cape Town) and Bali (Kuta) remain the lowest-priced destinations with a total for the 10 items ranging from £60 to £72.
WINTER FUN IN AUSTRIA
CRYSTAL Ski Holidays’ 2019/20 programme is going seriously downhill as the firm offers trips to Austria’s lively Zell am Ziller resort – home to the country’s longest continuous run at 10km.
Zell’s four valleys offer 143km of slopes and three fun parks with areas for beginners and snowboarders. Non-ski activities at the resort include ice skating, tobogganing, snow-tubing and cross-country trails.
Prices start at £639 per person in January with three-star accommodation, half-board, with flights from Gatwick.

BIG VALUE IN BULGARIA
SKI trips to Bulgaria are now on sale with Balkan Holidays.
Prices start from £299 per person – the same as last year – with new four-star hotels on offer in the resorts of Bansko, Pamporovo and Borovets.
The firm has also added flights from Belfast to the 11 other UK departures and early booking incentives include BOGOF lift passes, 5% loyalty discount for past customers and discounts of up to £225 per couple.
