KIERAN Hill became an instant hit with the Pandy Park fans on his home debut as he kicked his new club to victory.

The Bristolian, who joined in the summer from Old Redcliffians, stepped up after Ian Newbury crossed for a try that took Keys to within a point of their Championship rivals and his conversion turned a near miss into a fine win.

“I just told myself to stick to the processes from whenever I

bMallWanAdNhDopEeRfuEllyRiStg..o..e.s..o..v.e2r1. Luckily it did,” said Hill. I’m new to the club, but I know the last few seasons have been pretty tough. We’re looking to bounce back and get more wins under our belt.”

Phil Pariyo’s second-half try looked enough for a Wanderers win but Newbury came off the bench to bag a late try and hand outside-half Hill the chance to snatch victory with the last kick of the game.

Keys made a promising start but a careless pass allowed Ray Bishop to touch down for the visitors. Paul Short added the extras.

The hosts went straight back on the attack and got their reward with Hill knocking over a penalty.

But Wanderers showed their clinical edge when Will AdamsJones burst down the left to claim his side’s second try. Short added the conversion.

Keys needed something to spark them into life and it came in the shape of a Corey Nicholls brace. He showed quick feet to escape the clutches of several Wanderers players to go over midway through the first half, then added a second.

Wanderers asked most of the questions in the second half and Ioan Williams freed up Pariyo to bag a simple try. Short converted.

Keys piled on the pressure and Newbury found a way through. Hill’s conversion sealed the win.

Tries: C Nicholls (2), I Newbury; Cons: K Hill (2); Pen: K Hill.
