■■A table top sale is taking place on Saturday, September 28, 10.30am until noon, at St Faith Church, Morris Avenue, Llanishen. Refreshmen­ts available. Tel: 029 2062 0838.

■■There is a coffee morning in St Paul’s Community Hall, Paget Street, Grangetown, Cardiff, on Saturday, September 28, starting at 10.30am. This month it’s in aid of the Macmillan Nurses. A variety of cakes will be on sale as well as coffee, tea and soft drinks. Thanking all in the past who have supported these mornings. Free entry, all welcome.

■■The little former Church of St Lawrence at Fort Road, Lavernock, will be bursting with flowers, fruit, vegetables and other produce on Sunday, September 29, at 3pm when the harvest festival is celebrated. The Rev Mark Jones from the Parish of Penarth and Llandough will be preaching, and there will be seasonal poems and scripture readings, and popular harvest hymns accompanie­d on the French harmonium by Anne Thomas. Donations will be welcome for the produce at the end of the service, and tea and coffee will be served. There is a free car park on the left of Fort Road just before the church for visitors who will all receive a warm welcome.

■■Cymdeithas Gymraeg Llanedern a Phentwyn (Llanedeyrn and Pentwyn Welsh Society) is meeting at 7pm on Monday, September 30, in St Philip Evans Church Hall on Llanedeyrn Drive, Llanedeyrn (CF23 9UL). The session will be provided by Siân Thomas of St John Ambulance Cymru as part of its Save a Life September campaign. Entry is free. Adults and children accompanie­d by a responsibl­e adult are welcome, whether or not they live in the district. This event will be presented in Welsh but members will happily support learners who need help with the language. Tel: 07761 696 286.

■■A craft club takes place at Taffs Well Village Hall every Thursday evening, 7pm-9pm. Learn how to make mosaic and embroidery pictures, learn how to knit with a loom and make dried flower cards. Cost £2.50, includes refreshmen­ts.
