How they rated

- BY GLEN WILLIAMS

LEE PELTIER

A rare poor outing from the right-back. Grady Diangana caused him all sorts of trouble in defence and couldn’t help in attack.

4

SEAN MORRISON

Kept calm with the ball at his feet and tried his best to inflict some damage in the air at the other end.

6

ADEN FLINT

This West Brom attack was quick and dangerous and Flint was caught out once or twice when West Brom were on the break.

5

JOE BENNETT

Matt Phillips was a very present danger all afternoon but Bennett did his best to cope with him.

5

LEANDRO BACUNA

Was difficult for him to aid the forwards when he was often forced into defensive duties.

5

MARLON PACK

Spent most of his time at the back trying to bail out the wing-backs. A lot of running for him.

5

CALLUM PATERSON

A very quiet afternoon from the Scot. Don’t remember him doing anything of note all game.

4

GAVIN WHYTE

Had a bright and confident first half, but just fell away a little as the game went on.

6

JUNIOR HOILETT

Looked one of the brighter options in attack but too many times his final ball didn’t deliver.

6

ROBERT GLATZEL

Was largely anonymous and missed a sitter when called upon at a crucial stage of the game.

4

STAR MAN: ALEX SMITHIES

One of the best performances I’ve seen from a goalkeeper in some time. Made three world-class saves and effectively kept the Bluebirds in the match longer than they had a right to be.

8
