I’m not afraid to do anything now, says super-slimmer Ceri

A WOMAN who lost more 13 and a half stone says she’s “not afraid to do anything” since her incredible weight loss.

Ceri Hunt, from Tylorstown, shed more than half of her body weight in 18 months after joining Slimming World.

Ceri, 50, who joined the group in February 2015 and met her target in October 2016, has now received an award to honour her incredible achievement.

She was given the Golden Club 50 award after sticking to her target weight for almost three years.

Ceri, who did not want to disclose her before and after weights, decided to join the group with her friend Eileen Edwards.

“I couldn’t do anything before, I wouldn’t go on an aeroplane because I knew the seats would be too small, but now I can,” said Ceri. “I climb up Pen Y Fan now, I would not have even looked at it before. I am not afraid to do anything”.

Ceri, who is a carer, said her diet hasn’t changed much but the way she cooks has, which is what she loves most about Slimming World.

Before Ceri joined, she would eat a full cooked breakfast almost every day, a luxury she still enjoys on her diet plan.

“There are no foods that you are not allowed on Slimming World, but you just have to cook it differently,” she said.

“I still have a full breakfast every day. I have bacon, eggs, mushrooms, fried onions, but I cook them all in cooking spray whereas before it would have been oil,” said Ceri.

Ceri also still enjoys meals like spaghetti bolognese, curry and rice, as well as healthier versions of takeaway meals.

She said it is the lack of restriction which made her so successful at losing weight.

“I feel so much better. I really believe that my weight before added 20 years onto my life. If it wasn’t for Slimming World, who knows if I would even be here,” said Ceri.

The mother-of-four now enjoys family holidays knowing that she has the energy to keep up.

Ceri puts her amazing transformation down to the support from her consultant Ceri and other members of the group.

“The support is the main thing. I have made some fabulous friends. I want other people to know that nothing is impossible. If you want it, you can do it,” she added.

Nicola, who has been a consultant for 20 years, said the change in Ceri has been amazing to see.

“People say we have given them their life back, and it does feel like that with Ceri. When she first joined it was such a task for her to walk up the stairs to group, now she can do it no problem,” said Nicola.

Nicola said there is no-one more deserving of the award. As well as being given a bouquet of flowers, Ceri was also gifted a £50 Debenhams voucher.
