People affected by Parkinson’s, their family, carers and friends are welcome. Join this local group for friendship, support, information sharing, coffee, tea, cake or a biscuit, and a laugh. ■ “Simone” is third-year designer Ruby Boswell-Green’s first production. It is a theatre show catering solely to the needs of a visually impaired audience. Having sight, therefore, becomes a hindrance. If one is not visually impaired, an eye mask will be provided. It has a focus on sounds and smells with a specially written script to create an atmosphere where audio description is unnecessary. It is being held at Shirley Bassey Studio, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff, on Wednesday, October 16, 7.30pm. The running time is about 30 minutes. Tickets in advance are £4; on the day they are £6. Buy them via this link: https://www.rwcmd.ac.uk/whats_on/events/repco_simone.aspx or by ringing the box office on 029 2039 1391.

■ Penarth Computer Club‘s next twice-monthly meeting is being held at All Saints Lesser Hall, Penarth, 7.30pm, October 24. The topic is Security Night. The club offers advice and reassurance to retired (and younger) members on a range of devices. Visitors always welcome.

■ Tickets are available to buy for the Christmas cabaret and buffet at the Earl Haig club in Whitchurch. Numbers are limited and already more than half the tickets have been sold. Tickets cost £8. The party is on Saturday, December 14, but all tickets must be bought before December 1 in order to cater for exact numbers. There will be no admission on the night without a ticket.
