■■“Simone” is third-year designer Ruby Boswell-Green’s first production. It is a theatre show catering solely to the needs of a visually impaired audience. Having sight, therefore, becomes a hindrance. If one is not visually impaired, an eye mask will be provided. It has a focus on sounds and smells with a specially written script to create an atmosphere where audio description is unnecessary. It is being held at Shirley Bassey Studio, Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Cardiff, on Wednesday, October 16, 7.30pm. Running time is about 30 minutes. Tickets in advance are £4; on the day they are £6. Buy them via: www. rwcmd.ac.uk/whats_on/events/ repco_simone.aspx or by ringing the box office on 029 2039 1391.
■■In celebration of 150 years in the Canton community, Conway Road Methodist Church presents a Festival Concert, featuring Sororitas female voice choir with friends from the community. It will take place on Saturday, October 19. Refreshments from 7pm, curtain up at 7.30pm. Tickets (£5) can be bought at the door. All money raised will go to All We Can.
