IT’S taken Broadway and the West End by storm and now The Book of Mormon is heading to Wales on its first-ever UK stage tour.

From the creators of hit TV show South Park, The Book of Mormon will be staged at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff from November 3, 2020.

The Book of Mormon follows a pair of Mormon boys sent on a mission to a place that’s a long way from their home in Salt Lake City.

Since its world premiere in March 2011 in New York, where it won nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, The Book of Mormon has been performed on three continents and won more than 30 international awards.

The musical – written by Trey Parker, Matt Stone and Robert Lopez – has smashed long-standing box office records in New York, London, Melbourne, Sydney and cities across America.

The London production opened in February 2013, winning four Olivier Awards including Best New Musical, and breaking the record for the highest single day of sales in West End history.

It has sold out every one of its performances to date at the Prince of Wales Theatre.

The news comes after it was revealed that the WMC will be hosting another popular musical on its first UK tour next year.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie will be at the Cardiff venue from Monday, May 18 to Saturday, May 23 2020.

Public booking for The Book of Mormon will open at 10am on Wednesday, November 6 at the Wales Millennium Centre box office on 029 2063 6464 or visit www.wmc.org.uk
