■ On Saturday, November 16, there will be a Christmas Fayre in St German’s Church Hall, in Adamsdown, Cardiff. Father Christmas will be in his grotto to welcome children to have their photograph taken and there will be a host of stalls selling games, books, bottles, cakes, pickles and jams. Christmas raffle and refreshmen­ts including hot dogs and chips with tea, coffee and soft drinks. Open from 11am until 1pm. The church hall is next to Grade I listed Church of St German in Star Street, Adamsdown, Cardiff and there is free parking at the side of the church hall. St German’s will again be joining with other Cardiff churches to provide a night shelter for the homeless through the winter months.

■Parkinson’s Café CF3 is being held on Tuesday, November 19, 11am-12.30pm, at St Mellons HYB, Crickhowel­l Road, St Mellons, Cardiff CF3 0EX. People affected by Parkinson’s, their family, carers and friends are welcome. Local contact Roger Harrison (0771966945­8).

■Conway 50+ welcomes Wyn Calvin to launch the group’s ‘Soup Book’ with the most asked for recipes at 50+ lunchtimes. It takes place on Wednesday, November 20, 10.30am. After the launch there is a talk by Michelle from Cardiff council about the Independen­t Living Service – how to empower our independen­ce for as long as we can. Conway 50+ is every Wednesday morning at Conway Methodist Church Hall, Romilly Crescent entrance, CF11 9NT. On Bus route 61. Entry is £2. Tea and chat, 10.15am-10.45am.Speaker/ activity session, 10.45am-11.45am. Light lunch available at noon.

■Castle Court Craft and Food Market in Caerphilly is having a Twilight Market on Friday, November 22 (5pm-8pm). There will also be a Christmas Market on Saturday, December 7, from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, December 8 (10am-4pm).

■A table top sale takes place at St Faith Church, Morris Avenue, Llanishen, on Saturday, November 23, 10.30am-noon. Variety of stalls. Refreshmen­ts available. Tel: 20620838 for further informatio­n.
