FALCON AND WINTER SOLDIER #1

WHILE Marvel’s cinematic fans will know Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson as Captain America’s sidekicks – in the comic universe they have both carried the shield themselves.

Falcon and Winter Soldier get their own spin-off series later this year, but this week sees the pair of former Caps join forces for a mini, comic book adventure.

When a dramatic attempt on Bucky’s life reunites him with Sam, they are plunged headlong into a race to uncover the new leader of Hydra.

Written by Derek Landy, with art by Federico Vicentini, Falcon and Winter Soldier #1 is out now priced £3.60

HOSTEL TAKEOVER

HORROR helmer Eli Roth, below, has been unveiled as the director for Borderlands.

Video game films are hot property at the moment, with the success of Detective Pikachu, and the recently released Sonic The Hedgehog.

Borderlands is a first-person shooter which takes place in an apocalyptic world ruled by ruthless corporations.

Roth, who directed the grisly Hostel, and Green Inferno, is joined on the project by writer Craig Mazin, who wrote hit series Chernobyl.

BATTY FOR NEW SUIT

FILMING is well underway for The Batman, the latest cinematic take on the Dark Knight.

Although fans have been teased with a glimpse of star Robert Pattinson in the famous suit, they have had their first full look at the costume as scenes were shot in Glasgow, right. Cameras captured the Caped Crusader on his ‘batbike’ within the city’s Necropolis cemetery during filming.

Pattinson will star alongside Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as Penguin, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Jim Gordon, among others. Directed by Matt Reeves, the film is due for release in March of 2021.
