Bale targeted by Beckham’s new MLS side

-

GARETH Bale could play for Wales at the Euros next year fresh from a stint in America, according to reports.

The Wales superstar is said to be wanted by David Beckham’s ambitious MLS side Inter Miami, who are being backed to land their target.

Bale was on the brink of a shock move to China last year, before Real Madrid pulled the plug at the 11th hour.

However, Inter Miami owner and president Beckham is hoping to succeed where Chinese Super League outfit Jiangsu Suning failed by rescuing Bale from his Real Madrid woes.

Bale’s game-time has been limited at the Bernabeu and he is said to be one of a number of big-name stars Real boss Zinedine Zidane wants to offload this summer as part of a rebuilding plan.

Premier League clubs have been alerted to the situation, but Bale’s reported £600,000-a-week salary will put many of them off.

However, as with China, American clubs are pushing the boat out financially to attract big names.

Even though football across the pond is nowhere near as competitive as Europe’s best leagues, the American dream could appeal to Bale.

USA legend Alexi Lalas, capped 96 times by America, feels the move could come off – and cites Bale’s love of golf as a reason.

“While I’m a little bit making fun of the golf part of it, we know that it’s a huge, huge part of him,” said Lalas.

“He loves to play golf, and the ability to make a good chunk of money in a place that he would be very happy, and for him to be able to train and then play golf on a daily basis, I think that would be incredibly attractive to him.“
