THE WORLD’S MIGHTIEST MORTAL: VOLUME 2

SHAZAM! was a surprise hit last year, and thanks to the ongoing pandemic it looks like it may be a while before a sequel appears.

But fans looking for a fix should take a look at this gorgeous new collection of 70s adventures.

Collected in colour for the first time, many of the hero’s offbeat adventures feature, including The Strange and Terrible Disappearance of Maxwell Zodiac.

Presented in a gorgeous hardback, Shazam!: The World’s Mightiest Mortal is due in shops May 6, priced £40.

UNIVERSAL ROW

ODEON and Cineworld have said they will refuse to show new films by Universal.

The move comes after the studio released Trolls World Tour at home because of coronavirus.

Released on April 10, the movie made $100m in North America alone, prompting the studio to say that even after cinemas have reopened, it will keep releasing films in both formats. And Universal’s CEO doubled down on the decision saying home releases will be a part of the studio’s business model from here on out.

HERCULEAN EFFORT

DISNEY’S march to convert all its animated films to live action continues apace.

Next up is Hercules, and Joe and Anthony Russo are already onboard to produce.

The brothers, who directed Avengers Endgame, will be helping to find the right filmmaker to steer the ship.

Mulan is the latest live action remake, which has been given a new release date of July 24.
