Lily’s gone from a water baby to star of the swimming pool!
A WATER baby who hit the headlines when she was born in the bath has grown up to become a star swimmer!
Sports mad Lily Sage, 10, made a dramatic entrance to the world when she arrived unexpectedly in the bath.
But she has now grown from a 7lb 3oz bouncing baby girl to a waterloving schoolgirl.
The youngster is the star of her weekly swimming lessons every week – and also loves going to the pool for fun with her little brother Ieuan, three.
Lily said: “I love swimming and I go to classes every Tuesday. My favourite is breaststroke but I also like to swim for fun too.
“I always tell people I am a water baby because I was born in the water. I love it.”
Mum Carla Davies, 33, had been washing her hair in the bath when she gave birth to her daughter at the family home

Speaking to the Echo at the time she revealed how she had gone into labour during the early hours, headed to hospital but then been sent home because in
Pontycymer, near medics thought she was labour”.
Later that afternoon she ran a warm bath.
I didn’t realise I was in labour,” she said. “I wasn’t in pain any more, so I went to have a bath to freshen up. Within a few seconds, my body pushed her head out.”
Ten years on and Carla says Lily is a strong swimmer and is always “flying down the pool” at lessons.
Lily also enjoys trips to the aquarium and has enjoyed family holidays to Blackpool Sealife Centre.
She said: “I think it’s amazing when you get to be surrounded by the water and see all the fish.”
Sporty Lily, who is in Year 5 at school, is now trying to keep herself occupied during the coronavirus outbreak.
She said: “I usually do cross country training at school, I play football too and I have my swimming lessons.
“I am missing being able to do all my classes while this is happening and I can’t wait to see my friends when it’s all over.” in
