It’s the end of the world as we snow it...

-

ABLEAK, dystopian drama, this 10-part series is rebooted from the critically acclaimed 2013 movie of the same name.

It’s a terrifying start – and doesn’t get much less frightening as it goes on.

The world has become a frozen wasteland. The survivors are all battling to get a place on the 1,001-car Snowpiercer train, a gigantic, perpetually moving train that circles the globe.

If you’re trying to survive an ice age, you need to get on that train. But you probably don’t want to be on it either.

It’s run by a reclusive transport magnate called Mr Wilford, who has separated the passengers according to class and has an evil plan to ensure life on the train is sustainable.

Seven years on, some are struggling to live on rations in filthy conditions, while in first class, passengers complain over parfait and sauna etiquette.

It’s a shocking contrast that is there to make you think.

Jennifer Connelly and Alison Wright are the immaculate uniformed Snowpiercer staff who must cater to their every whim.

As the situation becomes more desperate, the tension builds into class warfare and an uprising is brewing.

As if that wasn’t enough to contend with, one of the lower class passengers Layton (Daveed Diggs) is dragged out to help with a problem.

There has been a murder on board and since he was once a homicide detective, he might be just the person they need.

Riveting, scary and packed with emotional subplots, a double bill tonight will leave you hooked.
