Love in lockdown

-

WE CAN probably expect TV shows capturing lockdown weddings to become the order of service for a while now. Kudos to producers at Channel 4 who have managed to whip up this big wedding celebration, with the premise of TV’s Mr Cupid, Fred Sirieix becoming master of ceremonies for one lucky couple.

Thousands of couples have, of course, had to cancel their weddings, but Louise and Patrick will get the Channel 4 treatment in front of the entire nation.

The lovebirds had planned a big festival wedding for more than 200 people in an orchard, but now they hand over all the planning to Fred, who has been tasked with giving them an unforgettable day.

We’ve been promised a behindthe-scenes look at the couple’s three years together, before we witness them exchanging personalised vows.

Meanwhile, Fred will be delving into his list of industry showbiz mates to lay on the best food, decorations, entertainment and surprise guests.

There will be hen and stag dos, famous celebrity faces and speeches from excited family members – all, ahem – virtually as good as was originally planned.

Fred says: “They had everything originally in place, but it all got taken away from them. So, I’m working with some of my most trusted colleagues to throw the biggest bash we can in these circumstances.

“I’m working my finger to the bone to organise plenty of surprises for Louise and Patrick and we’re going to make it a day they’ll never forget.

“I promise you, you definitely do not want to miss it.”
