TIME TO HIT REFRESH

-

AWELL accessorised series with sass – this makeover programme takes the old Trinny and Susannah/Gok type show and gives it a splash of Queer Eye style.

This has its own Fab Five, style experts so trendy they’d put most of the population’s lockdown loungewear chic to shame.

But don’t worry, they’re not here to judge us. They are here to make over willing participants with wardrobe dilemmas.

Host Rylan Clark-Neal declares: “Imagine the department store of your dreams, where all body shapes and style dilemmas are catered for. This is clothes shopping like you’ve never experienced before.”

Each week four ‘customers’ who are fed up with the frump are pounced upon by one of the experts – style blogger Kat, fashion designer Joey, fashion editor Lucie, celeb stylist Nana or fashion columnist Darren.

They give each person four new looks. This is after Rylan has taken them to the ‘Mirror Room’ to assess themselves and occasionally reveal a sob story.

Meanwhile, the other stylists sit back on perfectlyplaced sofas next to carefully chosen interior decor and gossip about what’s going on.

Every now and again, there are skits of Rylan fawning over himself in the mirror and the odd fashion tip from a stylist. It’s all surprisingly engaging, occasionally emotional and full of those big makeover reveals that always make for good telly. In this episode, PE teacher Rachael has 90 pairs of trainers and is always in her tracksuit, warehouse worker Karen worries she’ll trip in heels, 6ft 5ins salesman Chris only wears black and 5ft 3ins Manny is sick of wearing kids’ clothes.
