Two more die with virus
TWO more people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in Wales.
Public Health Wales (PHW) confirmed yesterday that the overall death toll since the outbreak began now stood at 1,545.
Both latest deaths were recorded in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, which covers Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT), Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil.
According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) the true death toll in Wales, where the virus was mentioned on a death certificate, was 2,462 by July 3.
Meanwhile, PHW said the number of lab-confirmed positive cases of coronavirus in Wales had increased by 18 to bring the total to 16,854.
Swansea had three new cases followed by Conwy, Wrexham and Neath Port Talbot with two. Anglesey, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Vale of Glamorgan, RCT, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Powys all had one new case.
All other local authorities had no new cases.
And even though testing capacity stands at 15,000 each day in Wales just 3,966 tests were carried out on Tuesday.
