ANGEL AND DIY DEMONS

-

WE’VE had lockdown TV dramas, cooking, fitness, news… so why not some distanced DIY? What an adaptable nation we are.

Hot off the back of their own mega grand design – they have been renovating a derelict 45-room chateau – Dick and Angel Strawbridge want to share what they’ve learned.

“We want to use Angel’s creativity and Dick’s ingenuity to solve your design problems,” they say.

Filming themselves from their castle in France, the couple sets out to help the great British public make the most of their homes in the best way they know how – by rolling up their sleeves and tackling the DIY jobs that have been gathering dust.

Their kids Dorothy and Arthur also join in every now and again, building their own dream projects.

In this first episode, Angel helps Miriam get over the blues by transforming her very 1970s bathroom into a relaxing sanctuary – without changing either the suite or the tiles.

She puts together a 3D mood board to help figure it all out, and whips up some grout.

Dick digs out his old handmade smoker to help teach Phil the ancient art of cheese smoking.

There’s huge excitement when the smoker starts actually smoking.

The endlessly optimistic couple advises Tom and Sim how to bring their “weird” front door into the 21st century.

Back at the chateau, Dick takes to the sky to reveal the location of his new potting shed, and there’s an important arrival.
