Dionsetfor return to Bluebirds?

-

CARDIFF City are reportedly keen to bring Dion Sanderson back to the Welsh capital before Friday’s transfer deadline.

The 20-year-old Wolves prospect impressed during his loan stint at Cardiff City Stadium towards the back end of last season, however his form dipped slightly in the lead-up to the play-off semi-final with Fulham.

The Bluebirds have recruited Jordi Osei-Tutu on loan from Arsenal this term, but he is the only recognised right back currently at Neil Harris’ disposal.

The Echo understands that Cardiff would ideally liked to bring in a forward player and a right back before Friday’s 5pm transfer deadline as Harris tries to equip himself for another promotion charge this term.

And now MailOnline report that the Bluebirds, along with Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday, want to make their move to sign the Wolves academy product before the window shuts on Friday.

The Molineux club are thought to be open to either a permanent or loan deal for Sanderson, whose contract expires at the end of the season. The report adds that Wednesday have sounded out Cardiff over a potential move for Aden Flint, with the Owls currently trying to mitigate a number of injuries to their backline at present.

Flint, who is thought to be a loan option for the Hillsborough club, is a player Garry Monk is said to have followed for some time and any potential deal which would see the 31-year-old move up north could have ramifications for the Sanderson deal.

It is understood that Cardiff do not want any more players to leave without replacements having been lined up before Friday’s 5pm deadline, given the sheer number of bodies they have shipped out the door since the start of the calendar year.
