WEBCHAT Mark Drakeford is planning a ‘firebreak’ lockdown across Wales to tackle Covid

- Sophie Marie Ross

I would be happy for a circuit break as long as we are able to exercise outdoors. I walk regularly as a way of managing my mental health, it’s what helped me cope through the first lockdown.

He is trying to protect us and Wales. I’m sure he doesn’t want to do this but if it helps them, so be it. Think of the NHS struggling to keep people alive and look after themselves at the same time. Come on, we’re not being asked to go to war.

Sharon Hymers

The virus is never going to go away, the Welsh Government are simply trying to manage the spread to protect lives and the NHS. And frankly I think they are doing a pretty good job of it. If people had listened to the advice given earlier in the year, the spread wouldn’t have been so great. The longer people don’t listen and respect the rules the more lockdowns we’ll all have to abide by.

Fab, as long as you pay my bills and loss of earnings. Christos Gauci

What a great idea. Let’s bring the economy to its knees and make all the hardworking individuals pay for it in tax in the future. This virus is here for a long time, learn to live with it.

Gareth Phillips

How can we keep living like this? I thought masks, social distance and hand washing was going to keep the virus at bay... it’s just getting to a point now where suicides, unemployment and mental health outbreaks will leave a much longer-lasting impact on the country. We need to shield the vulnerable, discourage the weak from going out. Ultimately the survival rate is over 96%, most don’t even require NHS help and can heal at home.

Thom Oakley

The knock-on effect is filtering into every support network of society. Nobody can get efficient help for anything other than Covid.

Ruth Warren

If this does what it’s supposed to do and cuts the numbers down then that’s a good thing!
