Fright night gaming fun for the kids

-

WHY should the adults have all the fun playing spooky games this Halloween?

There are plenty of titles around for children to enjoy. Here are some of the best, at bargain prices.

LUIGI’S MANSION 3

(PEGI 7) Switch ENJOY jumps and scares galore as Mario’s brother Luigi sets out to explore a haunted high-rise hotel.

A direct sequel to 2013’s Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, this slicker outing sees Luigi tasked with saving his friends from the clutches of the ghosts which inhabit the eerie Inn.

Professor E Gadd makes a welcome return, and the Poltergust G-00 has been upgraded so you can slam and blow away the ghosts’ defences, or summon Luigi’s all-green doppelganger ‘Gooigi’ to help with tricky obstacles.

Released last Halloween, this became the fastest-selling Switch game of 2019, and has gone on to be one of the console’s best selling games of all time.

FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S

(PEGI 12) PS4, Switch, PC IT seems that, much like the animatronic beasts which inhabit Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, this game series is going nowhere.

But the original is still the best, as you play a security guard minding the restaurant for the night.

All is going well, until you notice the robots which entertain diners during the day are roaming around on their own ... and they think you are one of them.

GRABBED BY THE GHOULIES (PEGI 3)

XBOX 360 TITLE aside, this is a fantastic beat ’em up which takes place in a haunted house packed to the rafters with ghosts and ghouls. While the gameplay is simple, the jokes and cute graphics help to take your mind off how simple it can be. With intriguing characters, and laugh scares around every corner you’re sucked into the creepy fun.
