ELEVEN more people have died with coronavirus in Wales and more than 1,700 new positive cases have been identified.

Public Health Wales (PHW), in its daily update yesterday, confirmed 1,737 more people have been diagnosed with Covid-19 following a lab test.

That is significantly up from the 1,375 recorded the previous day and is the highest daily total since the pandemic began in March. However it must be noted that far more tests are now being carried out every 24 hours when compared to the April peak.

PHW also added that 11 more people had lost their lives with the virus in Wales to take the total to 1,859.
