Cardiff City welcome Bristol City to the Welsh capital this evening.

The Bluebirds earned their first home victory of the season against Barnsley in midweek and will want to double that record against their Severnside rivals this evening.

Yes, the game is going to be shown on TV.

Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football will broadcast the match, with coverage starting on Sky Sports Football half an hour before kick-off.

What about live streaming?

The game will not be streamed live on the Cardiff City website as it has been chosen by broadcaste­rs to be shown live on TV.

You will, however, be able to follow the game via live updates from us, which can be found at walesonlin­e.co.uk from 4pm.

Elsewhere, Cardiff appear to have come through the Barnsley win relatively unscathed, barring the odd knock and niggle.

Greg Cunningham and Jordi Osei-Tutu (both hamstrings) remain the long-term absentees, with a view to getting the wing-back duo fit again after the internatio­nal break.

Bristol City have been hit by injuries to defenders Alfie Mawson and Nathan Baker, while striker Andreas Weimann is out fore the season.

Midfielder­s Joe Williams and Liam Walsh are likely to be missing, but former Newport loanee Tyreeq Bakinson could return to the squad after injury.

What have the managers said? Cardiff City manager Neil Harris:

“We used the defeat at QPR as a real positive in getting a reaction on Tuesday.

“It wasn’t just the result and performanc­e on Tuesday, it was the second half against QPR where I had a reaction from my players.

“Everyone says the same thing, we look like we are nearly there. We are gelling, settling. We have to back it up in the coming 30 hours but certainly the next two to three weeks.”

“We’ve been tested as a squad from the first day of the season.

“We’ve competed in every single game this season – even in the Norwich game where we were defensivel­y really open. This is the next challenge ahead of us and we cannot wait for it.”

Who’s the referee?

David Webb is the man in the middle, assisted by Robert Hyde and Daniel Leach. The Co Durham official was in charge for Cardiff’s home defeat to Reading earlier this season. Fourth official is Andy Woolmer.

Bristol City ended a 11-game winless run away to Cardiff in all competitio­ns last season with a 1-0 victory in November 2019; the Robins haven’t won successive games on the road at Cardiff since December 2002.
