TRAGIC MEG ‘FULL OF DREAMS’

TRIBUTES TO LAW STUDENT FOUND COLLAPSED WHO LATER DIED IN SUSPECTED LINK TO KETAMINE

A LAW student full of “dreams and aspiration­s” has been named as the 18-year-old who died in a suspected link to drug ketamine.

Megan Pollitt, known as Meg to friends and family, passed away at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff on Monday where she was taken after being found collapsed by flatmates at around 12.40am on Saturday November 14.

Paying tribute to the teenager who had recently started studying law in Cardiff, her family described her as “full or dreams and aspiration­s”, with a “beautiful bright smile and positive energy.”

A statement on the behalf of the family released by South Wales Police said: “”Megan Pollitt, fondly known as Meg to family and friends, sadly passed away at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff on Monday, 16 November.

“Meg dedicated her time to everyone around her and was always there for others. She had recently started studying law in Cardiff and was full of dreams and aspiration­s.

“Having moved away Meg still enjoyed close contact with family and friends, sharing stories and laughter through visits and calls.

“We will miss her beautiful bright smile and positive energy that would lift the spirits of anyone.

“Meg loved the outdoor space, particular­ly hiking with her Dad and her dog. She had recently climbed Snowdon and reached the summit.

“Meg also loved reading the classics, watching Anime and listening to music as well as supporting the Wasps rugby team.

“Meg will be missed and forever loved by her mum and dad, sister, grandparen­ts and friends.”

Emergency services were called to Llys Talybont halls of residence in Cathays at around 12.40am on Saturday after Meg was found collapsed.

She was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, where she died on Monday.

Her family had travelled to South Wales to be with her and are being supported at this time.

A 25-year-old man from Radyr,

Rhys Trezise, passed away on Sunday. There is nothing at this stage to suggest the deaths are connected but police said they were investigat­ing the possibilit­y that the drug ketamine might be a factor in both deaths.

A 33-year-old man has since been charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of cannabis.
