(Odds via The Pools and correct at the time of publication) What’s the team news?

Neil Harris’ Cardiff City have thankfully come through the clash with Luton unscathed, meaning the manager is able to pick the same starting XI as he did for that thumping 4-0 win.

We could also see the return of Greg Cunningham, who has worked his way back to full fitness following his hamstring injury earlier in the season.

It has been a tough year for the Republic of Ireland international, in terms of injuries, and as such Harris is understandably cautious over including him in the squad too soon.

But, having missed out on last week’s trip to Coventry and the win over the Hatters, Cunningham might well be in line for a return to the squad.

The long-term absentees remain Lee Tomlin, who will be out until the new year following groin surgery, Jordi Osei-Tutu, whose hamstring issue is still keeping him sidelined, and Isaac Vassell has suffered another setback with his quad.

For the visitors, Richard Stearman will be absent and that is a big loss, following an injury he sustained in their win over Middlesbrough.

What have the managers said?

Cardiff City manager Harris: “As you can imagine, the players coming in yesterday [Sunday] were extremely pleased with their performance, individually and collectively, there was a right buzz about the place.

“Being on the training pitch, it was really positive. It was a strong performance but the same again is needed tomorrow.

“We don’t want to be six points away from the play-offs, we want to be right in the mix.

“We haven’t earned the right so far, we need consistency.

“At the moment, it’s just one game at a time. We have to be at our best to beat Huddersfield.”

Huddersfield Town manager Carlos Corberan: “I wasn’t surprised by their big win at the weekend. They finished last season really well.

“If you’re not focused they can score goals.

“They have a lot of powerful strengths in attack in open play and in set-pieces.”
