Eat Out to Help Out could return along with free cash, say reports
No, we have to pay all this ‘free’ stuff back cos they won’t go after the rich that got richer in this pandemic and hide from their legal taxes. It will be the hardworking poor that get the bill. They say benefits go up in April by 30p a week for some. My state pension is pennies compared to the raise for MP wages and I have to pay care charges out of that which go up every year.
Avril Worner
No !!!! It was bedlam last time. Hardly anybody following social distancing! Especially when sitting outside. The measures were there but customers ignored them and staff didn’t enforce them. It will just encourage too many people to go out and our figures will rocket again, like they did last year. Beverley Hughes
They need to look at VAT cuts for other sectors not just hospitality. They allowed us out and blamed us after this with Eat Out to Help Out. They need to review all sectors in this budget not just hospitality.
Charlotte Louise Griffiths
No, because they’re irresponsible with our money and won’t take responsibility for the fall when it all goes pear shaped, this is the most reckless government with public finances I have ever encountered. They should be ousted.
Jacquie Hendra
I don’t think the public need any incentive at all. Once we’re able, all these establishments will be rammed.
Suzanne Jones
Is this a Mickey take or what? The last one was really successful, Covid figures shot up. Just goes to prove the Government is trying too control people’s movements and actions. All about the NHS, don’t think so.
Alan Burke
Are they real? I am sure people will go out on their own accord without being cajoled into it. If people want to go out and observe social distancing and the venues provide the relevant risk assessments then that’s up to individual. Encouragement is not required to cause the spread again Get a grip.
Rupert PhillippRt
Don’t you think you should give
something to the people that have been on furlough and selfemployed. We have all lost money/bonuses through no fault of our own. Yet our bills are the same. So wrong.
Andrew Danny Daniels
Oh there we go again... First put all on lockdown then let them all out and give cash to spend then put us back into lockown. People should say no to that and then the Government would actually see what they are doing is wrong!
Klaudia M Zak
Why not give all households £1,000 in vouchers to spend in retail and hospitality to use between now and Christmas? That way everyone gets a chance to enjoy plus we’re not all having to cram into small places in a very short amount of time like the eat out to help out.
Sarah Elvy
Yes! It’s great way to help hospitality as they have lost lots of business over the past months. Anita Powell
What a fiasco last year was. We’ll be back in national lockdown within days!
Sam Rumming-Kieft
Give us a voucher so we can spend in a shop.
