How Swans rated

- BY IAN MITCHELMORE

FREDDIE WOODMAN

Good save to deny Marlon Pack and was then unfortunate to be beaten by Aden Flint. Hugely fortunate not to concede after gifting the ball to Kieffer Moore late on in the first half too. Good stop to deny Harry Wilson in the second half.

KYLE NAUGHTON

Made a few interceptions in the first 45 and was fairly solid. Decent enough display in truth.

RYAN BENNETT

Solid at the back and produced a vital intervention to deny Moore in the first half. Fairly comfortable in the second half and did the basics well.

CONNOR ROBERTS

Desperately struggled to cause problems on the right flank in the first half, although Swansea looked dangerous when the Welshman did get involved. Improved after the restart and carried a threat.

JAY FULTON

Fairly decent in the first half when others struggled and always found space, but final ball wasn’t always there. Subbed in the second half.

MATT GRIMES (CAPT)

Had a real tough battle in the middle of the park, but coped fairly well. Was a real influence in the second half on the ball.

CONOR HOURIHANE

Was denied by Dillon Phillips from a free-kick early on before being forced off due to injury.

JAKE BIDWELL

A couple of decent crosses aside, Bidwell was easily dealt with by Tom Sang and others on Swansea’s left wing. Not a good showing. Subbed.

ANDRE AYEW

Worryingly quiet in the opening half an hour and dropped deeper to get on the ball. More of a threat after the restart as Swansea dominated the ball, but his end product wasn’t there. Very unlucky with a header that hit the post.

MORGAN WHITTAKER

Handed his first start for the club, the attacker had a tough introduction to proceedings. After a tough 35 minutes or so, he slowly grew into the game and really asked questions in the second half. Spurned a few chances to make a name for himself.

STAR MAN: MARC GUEHI

One of few who looked on it for the hosts, despite the pressure applied on him. Bombed forward when possible and did well in the air defensively when required. Fine display.

SUBSTITUTES
