Cinemas offer scares and laughs for the whole family

IF terror trails and spooky villages or experience­s and ghost hunting are not for you then Halloween cinemas may be a great way to still enjoy the spooky season.

Halloween outdoor and drive-in cinemas are back meaning you can watch gripping horrors or more fun family-friendly films from next month:

St Donat’s Castle

The venue is holding a Halloween Spooktacul­ar film day on Saturday, October 30 where you can catch a film at this castle in Llantwit Major.

There are different films are being screened in the Bradenstok­e Hall, including Scoob – the latest Scooby-Doo movie – and The Lost Boys.

The castle is over 800 years old, making it the perfect place to enjoy a Halloween film, and the hall has exposed bath stone walls and a 20ft ceiling to add to the atmosphere.

You can dress up for this event to get even more in the spooky spirit and you can buy drinks and snacks on site.

Tickets are £12 for adults, £7.50 for children, £34 for a family of two children and two adults, and £40 for a bundle of four people. Where: St Donat’s, Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan, CF61 1WF

Street Food Cinema

Back again this year is the very popular Street Food Cinema at Splott Market in Cardiff.

This is a drive-in cinema and you will be watching the films on a big state-of-the-art screen. Street Food Cinema is promising preshow surprises to make sure this year is the spookiest yet.

There are many films to choose from including Corpse Bride, The Joker, and Cruella, and they will be showing films from Monday,

October 25, to Sunday, October 31.

There will be extra production­s, lights, actors and more this year, as Street Food Cinema aims to be better than ever.

Margam Country Park

Showing a range of Halloween films from Goosebumps to Rocky Horror Picture Show, Margam Country Park in Port Talbot is putting the chills into autumn.

Tickets are on sale now and this drive-in cinema will open during October half term from Wednesday, October 27, to Saturday, October 30.

The big screen will be in the East Lodge Car Park and VIP tickets to park on the front two rows cost £30 with all other tickets costing £25.

Pembrey Country Park

You will need to wrap up warm for this one as this screening is Hocus Pocus outdoors in the amazing Pembrey Country Park in south Wales.

There are two screenings of the hit Halloween film Hocus Pocus, one starting at 6pm and the other at 8pm, on Saturday, October 23.

The event is socially distanced and you can enter the ground an hour before each film starts. Hot drinks will be available to buy on site.

Tickets are £34 for a family of two children and two adults, £14 for adults, and £9 for children.

The event will be cancelled in the case of bad weather and high winds and all customers will receive a full refund if the films are cancelled.
