Adele ‘in a strong place’ and finds her voice again

-

ADELE has opened up about her new music after releasing her first track for six years – saying she is “in a strong place now, where I feel like I can put that vulnerability out”.

The pop superstar, 33, has described the period following her most recent album in 2015 as the most turbulent in her life.

It saw her split from charity boss husband Simon Konecki in 2019 and spark a new romance with US sports agent Rich Paul.

She yesterday released her hugely-anticipated comeback single, Easy On Me, with the full album, titled 30, due for release on November 19.

The award-winning singersongwriter says the album is her attempt at explaining her divorce to eight-year-old son Angelo.

And speaking to the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 yesterday morning, just hours after Easy On Me was released, Adele said she is feeling “good” and “ready”.

“I definitely feel like I lost sight of and lost the appreciation of, like, actually what a gift it is to be into music and be able to make it,” she said.

“It brought so much joy to my life, being able to listen to music and wail at the top of my lungs, you know, along to my own bloody songs, the ones as I was writing and stuff like that.

“I don’t know what my outlet would have been had I not had [music] and it made me feel like some people don’t have any bloody outlet, you know, which is why they never get to leap and jump and put themselves first.”

The release comes after emotionally turbulent years for the singer. As well as having to deal with the break-up of a relationship, she also suffered the death of her estranged Welsh father.

Mark Evans, from Penarth, died in May at the age of 57. It had been reported that he was suffering from cancer.

In interviews for both Vogue and British Vogue earlier this month, the 33-year-old singer shared that she was able to find peace with him, adding that therapy helped heal some of the trauma she faced because of him.

“I know he loved me, and we actually got our peace before he died,” she told Vogue. “When he passed, I had this sort of physical reaction. That fear left my body.”

“My mom was incredible when my dad was at the final stages. She was there and helping,” she added.

Adele’s parents divorced when she was just three years old and plumber Mr Evans was absent for most of her childhood.

Mr Evans said he kept in touch with his daughter for years, spending summer holidays in a caravan in Tenby and days eating ice cream on the beach at Barry.
