Developer celebrating fifth gold in health and safety awards
CARDIFF-BASED developer Lovell is celebrating a fifth consecutive Gold in the RoSPA (Royal Socieity for the Prevention of Accidents) Health and Safety Awards.
The developer has received the prestigious award in recognition of its practices and achievements in helping its employees and the public to stay safe at its developments and offices.
Steve Brown, Regional Health, Safety and Environmental Manager at Lovell, collected the RoSPA Gold Award
Having run for 65 years, RoSPA is one of the most prestigious and recognised schemes in the world, with almost 2,000 entries every year. It allows organisations to benchmark safety performance each year, ensure consistent performance between sites, and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to raising health and safety standards.
The RoSPA Gold Award recognises those who have achieved a very high level of performance, demonstrating welldeveloped occupational health and safety management systems, outstanding control of risk and very low levels of error, harm and loss.
James Duffett, regional managing director at Lovell, said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded our fifth RoSPA Gold Award in recognition of our strong health and safety practices and record, especially during this challenging time where health and safety is more important than ever.
“At Lovell, safety is extremely important to us and we put it at the forefront of all our activities, with everyone working to achieve the highest possible standards. This award reflects the continuous improvement in our health and safety management throughout the business, and I’m very proud to see this officially recognised by leading safety organisation RoSPA.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s achievements director, said: “The RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest-running of its kind in the UK, but it receives entries from organisations across the globe, making it one of the most soughtafter achievement awards for health and safety worldwide.
“RoSPA is very proud of the achievements of its entrants, and with this award we recognise the best of the best, those organisations that have gone the extra mile, raising the bar for the delivery of safety in the workplace. Employees, wherever they may be should be able to go to work safe in the knowledge that they will return home unharmed and healthy at the end of every day. Our RoSPA Award winners are central to achieving this goal. By entering they are driving up standards and setting new safety benchmarks for organisations across the world.”
Currently, Lovell is working on numerous projects across the region, including one of Wales’ largest regeneration programmes.
