Three injured after ‘violent attack’
THREE people have been injured following an aggravated burglary with a weapon on a residential street in Bridgend.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Tremgarth, Wildmill, around 1.10pm yesterday following reports of a violent attack.
Armed police and a helicopter were deployed to the scene as a precaution. Two men were taken to hospital for treatment, while a third man did not require treatment.
Police have confirmed a 27-yearold woman and a 36-year-old man were arrested in Tremgarth and remain in police custody.
Scenes of crime officers were still in the street some three hours after the incident.
An eyewitness said: “I heard the helicopter circulating and the sirens, so knew it was serious. If it weren’t for the presence of police cars and vans between a triad of flats, there would be no hint of anything out of the ordinary occurring.”
South Wales Police confirmed that an investigation was under way and detectives are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
