LOCKSMITHS moved up into fourth place in the Carling Premier Division following their 4-1 win over Michaelest­one Rangers.

Locksmiths welcomed Michealsto­ne to a wet Eastern Leisure Centre, where the Locksmiths started the game on the front foot with a few early chances.

Ben Ryan made a great run down the line which forced a penalty kick, which was calmly converted by Sam Price.

Harri Ryan then scored a chip into the top corner from range to make it 2-0 ten minutes before half-time.

Michealsto­ne began to grow into the game throwing men forward before halftime.

Aaron Shanahan shortly converted a perfect glancing header into the far corner to reduce the deficit just before the interval.

Throughout the second half Michelston­e grew in confidence, but they conceded a penalty on the counter attack, calmly converted by Sam Price to make it 3-1.

The Locksmiths passed the ball out from the back well and broke through for Kian Murphy to round off the scoring for a convincing 4-1 win for the Locksmiths.

Meanwhile, Radyr Rangers moved to within four points of leaders Trelai following their 3-1 win over Llanrumney Cosssacks.

Harry Purnell netted the Cossacks goal. Plough Albion picked up their first point of the season after earning a 1-1 draw with Cardiff Dragons.

Rhys Bull was on target for Plough, while Camile Walters-Wright replied for the Dragons.

Penarthina­ikos opened up an eight point lead at the top of the Carling Premier Division after a 3-2 win over Golden Lion. Ross Dennison and Greg Malone netted the

Golden Lion goals.

Elsewhere, AC-F23 secured their first point of the season after a 2-2 draw with Athletico Dads.

On a wet Sunday morning, AC-F23 got straight off the mark by scoring in the first ten minutes.

A driven shot from Dean Jenkins caused the Athletico keeper to fumble the ball presenting the perfect chance for Mason Bartley to strike on the follow up, and score his sixth goal of the season.

AC-F23 kept their momentum and managed to score a second goal shortly afterwards.

Charlie Robinson with a clearance from inside his own half turned into a shot on goal when the Athletico goal keeper misjudged the bounce of the ball, and could only watch as the ball rolled into the net.

Athletico Dad’s did well to keep their heads and were able to get back into the game with a goal before half time.

AC were unlucky to concede the second goal from a corner early in the second half to take the score to 2-2.

Both teams continued battling to find the winning goal but neither managed to succeed. Man of the match was Connor Doyle.

A close, hard fought game saw Canton Rangers edge out John Davey Builders by 3-2.

Matthew Feehan netted a brace for Canton, which was added to by Kieron BrahimDorb­ani.

Jordan Leachman was the last Builder to touch the opening goal and Ilidio Camacho headed the second for John Davey. Man of the match for the Builders was new signing Kevin Baker.

In the Honesman4h­ire second Division, Grawen Arms came back from behind to win 5-4 against Cardiff Continenta­l. Grawen Arms opened the scoring from an Iwan Jones free-kick which resulted in an own goal scored.

Continenta­l responded by scoring a freekick for 1-1. Continenta­l with another freekick which was only parried out by Grawen keeper Matt Harvey saw the rebound tucked home for 2-1.

After half-time, Continenta­l increased their lead when a cross from the right wing saw the ball headed home. The Grawen responded when Jordan Mullins rose above the defenders to dispatch a header for 3-2 from an Iwan Jones corner.

Iwan Jones from inside his own half thumped the ball which saw Jarrad Lewis beat the offside trap and coolly slot the ball past the keeper for 3-3.

Continenta­l made it 4-3 from a back heeled strike squeezed in by the striker.

Iwan Jones with another corner which saw Dan Roberts lose his marker and slot the ball in at the back post for 4-4.

A sumptuous corner from Iwan Jones saw Dan Roberts leaping into the air and use his strength to fend off the defenders to power home a header which proved to be the match winner, at 5-4 and sealed all three points for the Grawen.

Inter Caerau and St Josephs produced a ten goal thriller, with honours shared after the match ended 5-5.

Leaders Fred opened up a four point lead at the top of the table thanks to a 3-0 win over Copenbadly.

Alex Grech, Kai Laferia and Jared Mclaggon netted the Fred goals.

Roath Lions and Cardiff Athletic shared the spoils after a 2-2 draw. Abdullah Quereshi and Mazin Ali netted the Lions goals.
