ALEX SMITHIES

Can’t really be blamed too much for the goals. Largely commanded his area quite well, particularly in the second half when his team were up against it.

PERRY NG

Was one of many to look out of sorts during a disastrous first half, but grew into the contest reasonably well, and put in some valuable tackles

CURTIS NELSON

Poor in the first half, but again grew into the contest. No Cardiff player won more tackles or aerial duels

SEAN MORRISON (C)

Similar story. Very rusty on his return to the starting line-up, but saw his influence grow as the game wore on.

MARK MCGUINNESS

As above, although might feel he could have done more to prevent the opening goal. Initially looked a little unsure of his role

RYAN GILES

Took a long time to get going. Gave the ball away far too often in the first half. Even so, work-rate was tremendous. Lovely ball to set up Moore for the equaliser.

WILL VAULKS

Found life very difficult in the middle of the park, initially. But saw intensity levels improve after the break. Even so, nowhere near his best.

LEANDRO BACUNA

As above, really, although his free-kick against the post offered up a faint sign of life when his team were up against it. Put in some decent tackles.

KIERON EVANS

Wasn’t really able to make his mark, although he was one pass away from netting after about five minutes. Subbed.

KIEFFER MOORE

Looked a little down on confidence at first, but never threw the towel in and kept fighting for his team up front. Held the ball up brilliantly, and brought others into play. Good to see him back on the scoresheet.

STAR MAN:

RUBIN COLWILL Simply superb on the ball. Showed some wonderful touches on the ball and was worthy of his goal.
