South Wales Echo

Welsh Government just wants to control our lives

-

ON SATURDAY, July 23, I settled down to read the South Wales Echo. Turning a few pages, I came across a report and found myself in 1920s Albania.

The president had been declared King Zog I, he and the rest of his cohorts’ policies were bleeding the people dry. Life was getting very drab for the citizens of this country.

Freedoms being taken away and rules being made to control the majority by this minority.

Industry hardly existed as nobody would invest, because transporting goods was so expensive, with tolls and speed limits on all roads.

When I finished reading this report I looked up from the paper and realised I was here in Wales. How strange, maybe it was April 1, but no, my watch, the television and the calendar all agree with the South Wales Echo, it’s July 23.

Turns out it’s another abuse of the powers handed to the so-called Welsh Government.

Once again it’s a contradiction to what they said a few years ago, when they were in favour of scrapping the Severn Bridge tolls, as these were hindering business.

But back then, of course, the toll charges went to central government coffers, whereas this is a chance to get their grubby hands on the money.

We have a bunch of politicians in the Bay that want to control every aspect of our lives.

Don’t be surprised if they ban men from wearing beards or taxing them by the inch soon, after all I don’t see many of them with one.
