IF you’ve been watching our elite athletes racking up the medals at this year’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, here’s your chance to witness plucky celebrities taking on the same tough sports, without similar prowess.

Hosted by Emma Willis and Jermaine Jenas, and raising money for Sport Relief, this one-off tournament splits the competitors into two teams led by formidable sporting captains: double Olympic gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes and five-time Paralympic swimming champion Ellie Simmons.

The organisers have selected five sports for Kelly and Ellie’s celebs to compete in, each of which poses its own unique challenges.

Travelling to the venues used for the real Games, newsreader Dermot Murnaghan, presenter Steph McGovern, comedian Russell Kane and former Love Islander Kem Cetinay are among the amateurs trying their luck with cycling at the velodrome, 3x3 basketball matches, table tennis showdowns, athletics events and rhythmic gymnastics routines, hoping to discover a hidden talent along the way. The teams will also feature plenty of sporting legends keen to turn their hand to a different discipline.

These include Paralympic sprinter Jonnie Peacock, Olympic gymnast Max Whitlock, curling superstar Eve Muirhead, double Olympic rowing champion Helen Glover and Super Saturday’s long jumping hero Greg Rutherford, each of whom will bring their fiercely competitive winning mentality to the occasion – don’t expect them to take this lightly just because it’s for charity!

As points are accrued over each event, which team will triumph and who will trip over their gymnastics ribbons before falling flat on their face?
