Cymru petition still open for support

-

I WOULD like to thank readers who have thus far shown their support for the petition asking the Senedd to abolish the name “Wales” and make Cymru and Cymru alone to be the only name for our country.

We are currently halfway through the life span of the petition, which has received 11,690 signatories from all over the UK and worldwide who have lent their support to this cause.

Although this is a positive result at this halfway point I do feel, however, that more support is required before June, for the Senedd to take the petition seriously, despite the fact it has already exceeded the threshold required for it to be considered for being debated in the chamber.

It is vitally important that the petition is debated by all sides of the political divide in order to secure once and for all the true identity and the true heritage of our nation – and to ensure that future generations will have a country with a name that reflects the true language of our nation.

The name Wales does not in any shape or form reflect nor represent the true language of our country. It is there to remind all of us that the only language that counts is English.

It is vitally important that as a country we overrule this English name that was imposed on our nation in 1536 for the sole purpose of eradicating our language Cymraeg and that we are able to convey a message to the Senedd that the only name with the required provenance to be an official name for our country is Cymru and Cymru alone.

For those who have not yet seen the petition and you feel truly passionate about our nation becoming a truly bilingual country for future generations living in Cymru in a way it never has been possible nor ever will be possible to become a truly bilingual country if we live in a country called Wales, then, please go online and seek out “Deisebau Senedd Cymru”, click on “gweld pob deiseb” and you will see the required petition being the fourth one down from the top.

Diolch o galon i chi gyd ac ewch amdani.
