Appeal to find ‘dangerous’ man after woman killed in collision
POLICE have appealed directly to a “dangerous individual” following the death of a woman.
South Wales Police have appealed again for information about the whereabouts of 29-year-old Cameron Jones from Merthyr Tydfil.
They want to speak to him about a collision which happened on Swansea Road in the town on Friday, April 5.
Demi Mabbitt, 25, died as a result of her injuries sustained in the collision. She has been described by her family as a “beautiful daughter”.
South Wales Police said that Demi’s family are being support by specially trained officers.
In a statement issued on Friday, April 26, DS Debbie Hobrough of South Wales Police’s serious collision investigation unit said they had been trying to locate Cameron Jones since the collision.
She said: “We’d like to warn any individual who is assisting him to evade the criminal justice system that this is an offence – and if you’re found to be helping, this could lead to you being arrested yourself.
“This is a direct appeal to Cameron. Please hand yourself in.”
She added: “He is a dangerous individual. Members of the public are advised not to approach Jones but to contact the police if they have any information which will help us find him.
“A 30-year-old local man and a 29-year-old local woman have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and we will continue to make arrests should anyone else be suspected of assisting Jones in evading police.”
Anyone who has seen Cameron Jones or has any information about his possible whereabouts is urged to contact the police quoting reference 2400110291.
