ON LIFE’S LITTLE INCIDENTS

- SHARON LLOYD

THIS hasn’t been the week I had planned at the beginning of the year.

Today should be my second day of sitting in the sun on a beach in Corfu, but the current Covid situation has seen it be cancelled.

After the initial disappointment I know it’s for the best and I’m just one of many thousands who have had holidays called off with life in general disrupted and I’m very grateful that in the grand scheme of things it could have been a lot worse.

I would actually have been far more upset had my holiday been cancelled by my airline going bankrupt or a random volcano exploding ash into the sky again. This is definitely one of those ‘we’re all in this together ‘ scenarios , and hopefully we’ll be off on hols next July instead.

At the very time I should have been 30,000ft in the air over

Europe, I was actually sitting in the dentist’s chair for one of the first appointments since reopening.

Hopefully there is now a light at the end of the tunnel after accidentally swallowing my crown during the first week of lockdown, and I could soon have a replacement tooth. Hooray!

I also managed to get a haircut on Tuesday, so I’m slowly starting to look a bit more human again.

Even though Corfu has been called off I’m still officially on my holidays, so will need to find something to do that doesn’t involve anything too taxing on mind, body and soul.

I’ve worked through all of the chaos and am looking forward to a bit of a chillax during these very unusual times before I head back to the grindstone again next week.

Let the sun shine and the relaxation begin. . .
