Views sought on plans for 35 new homes
A PUBLIC consultation is under way over plans for 35 new homes in the village of Nantgaredig.
Life Property Group Ltd wants to build on 1.52 hectares of land currently used for agricultural grazing, off Station Road.
The development, which is part of Carmarthenshire Council’s local development plan (LDP) will comprise a mix of detached and semi-detached homes ranging from five, four and three-bedroomed with sizeable private gardens.
Six properties will be affordable and the site will also include areas of public open space.
A design and access report by planning agent Evans Banks Planning states: “The scale of the proposal has sought to strike a balance between making an efficient use of a greenfield housing allocation, whilst being respectful of its position adjoining and within the existing urban form of Nantgaredig.”
The report, which is included in the planning application adds: “The proposal relates to a formal housing allocation of the Carmarthenshire local development plan and so represents part of the council’s overall housing strategy for the county.
“Its careful and sensitive design ensures that it will not result in a detriment to the immediate or wider landscape setting.”
As well as the Nantgaredig plans, people in Carmarthenshire are being given another opportunity to view and provide their feedback on a revised LDP – to shape and guide development through to 2033.
