Small decrease in number of new cases

THESE are the key details for yesterday:

■ Deaths reported: 0

■ Cases reported: 362 (down from 370 on Saturday)

■ Number of new tests: 11,737 (up from 11,258 on Saturday)

■ Total deaths with lab-confirmed coronavirus in Wales: 1,612

Cardiff had the highest number of new cases recorded yesterday with 56 (a jump from 36 the day before), closely followed by Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) which recorded 49 new cases.

The number of cases in Swansea dropped to 36 (from 58 on Saturday), but Carmarthenshire jumped to 27 while Blaenau Gwent and Merthyr Tydfil both recorded 24 and Bridgend had 22 new cases.

Newport had 14 new cases, Caerphily had 13 as did the Vale of Glamorgan. Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham all recorded 10 new cases while Neath Port Talbot and Conwy reported eight apiece.

Torfaen had seven, Gwynedd had five and Monmouthshire,

Ceredigion and Powys all had four and Anglesey three.

Pembrokeshire was the only area to record no new positive cases of the virus.
