Dhanda doubt for Millwall’s Liberty visit

-

STEVE Cooper has confirmed that winger Yan Dhanda is a doubt for the visit of Millwall tomorrow.

However, the Swans boss says longterm absentee George Byers is making progress towards a return.

“We have nothing in terms of injuries from last weekend or training, apart from Yan Dhanda,” Cooper said.

“Yan has been off sick with a stomach bug, so it is not Covid-19 , but he has been sidelined for a few days and he is a doubt for the game.”

Meanwhile, Jordon Garrick faces a late fitness test after missing the win over Wycombe last weekend, while Byers is making good progress on his return from an ankle injury.

“Jordon had his first session back today, so we will see where he is at, while George is progressing with his rehab,” Cooper added.

“We hope George will be back on the grass towards the end of the international break, all being well.

“He needs to get through the final stage of his recovery, but we had a meeting about George this week, and everything is on course.”

Bournemouth have signed Atletico Madrid winger Rodrigo Riquelme on a season-long loan, with the option of a permanent move.

The 20-year-old has featured just twice for Atletico’s first-team.

He becomes Jason Tindall’s first signing, and joins almost eight weeks after the former Cherries assistant took over from Eddie Howe.

“It is great to have a new signing on board and especially someone of Rodrigo’s quality,” said Tindall.

“I have made it very clear that we will only sign players who can improve our squad and we have now done that.”

Riquelme said he is “excited” by his move to the Championship with a club looking to make an immediate return to the top flight.

“I came here to improve myself and to help the team get back to the Premier League, which is where this club should be,” he told the club website.
