Businesses urged to join campaign in support pledge

-

NEATH Port Talbot Council is urging local businesses to join its #NPTBuylocal campaign which is aimed at linking shoppers to businesses based within the county borough.

Neath Port Talbot Council leader Rob Jones said: “We are proud of the way businesses, traders and retailers across the county borough have stepped up during these very testing few months, helping to serve our local communities.

“We know many of you have pulled out all the stops to make sure vulnerable people who may be isolating have received the goods they need, and retailers and the vast majority of hospitality firms have taken on board strict social distancing measures, in order to keep shoppers, visitors, consumers and staff healthy.

“Thank you. With local restrictions now in place in NPT to protect our communities from Covid19, we want to continue to support local traders in any way we can.

“To help do this, we have launched the #NPTBuylocal campaign, giving shoppers an easy-touse website with information on where to shop locally as well as click/phone and collect, and home delivery options from companies throughout the area.”

The companies which form part of the campaign provide:

■ Groceries

■ Retail

■ Restaurants and takeaways

■ Support services

■ Medical services

■ Professional services

■ Property services
