Resident Sion Wynne said dredging had taken place further up the river but called for more to take place along the stretch of water near to the village.

The Met Office said in the 42 hours running up to 6pm on Saturday, there had been 116mm (4.6in) of rain at Blackpitts Gate in Somerset, and 101mm (4in) at Princes Marsh in Hampshire.
