Peterson pens emotional farewell after Liberty exit

-

KRISTOFFER Peterson says Swansea City will always hold a special place in his heart following his departure from the club.

The Sweden international has joined Fortuna Dusseldorf in a permanent deal worth around £400,000 plus add-ons.

Peterson’s move to Germany was officially announced by both clubs yesterday morning.

And following confirmation of the deal, the 25-year-old took to social media to thank the Swans in an emotional post in which he described the current crop of players at SA1 as “special”.

“This chapter didn’t go as wanted or planned,” he wrote in a post on Instagram. “But Swansea will leave a special place for me and my family.

“We really enjoyed our stay here. I want to thank the people in Swansea City, the kitmen, all the chefs, physios, media centre, receptionists etc.

“Wonderful people all round. I want to thank my team-mates for the good times and sticking by me through the tough times. Probably the best changing room I’ve been involved with.

“Thank you to the fans, for the support, to the team and myself, and I wish I got the chance to show you more of what I’ve got.

“Stick to this group, they are special lads, so keep supporting them, no matter what and great things will happen.”

Peterson joined Swansea from Heracles in the 2019 summer transfer window.

He leaves South Wales having made only 12 appearances for the club, with his only goal coming against Cambridge United in the Carabao Cup.

His only appearance for Swansea this season came in the Carabao Cup defeat at Newport County.
