Joe issues emotional message after move

-

JOE Rodon has issued an emotional farewell message to Swansea City fans following his move to Tottenham.

The Wales international joined Spurs on transfer deadline day for a fee of £11m, which could rise to £15m.

The news no doubt came as a major blow to the club’s supporters who have seen academy products such as Daniel James and Oli Mcburnie also depart since the club were relegated from the Premier League in 2018.

But boyhood Swan Rodon was quick to thank his former team-mates, club staff and supporters following his move to North London in a post on social media.

“I’ve been involved with Swansea City Football Club since I was seven years old,” he wrote in a post on Instagram.

“My family has lived and breathed the club, to making my debut at the Liberty in 2018.

“The club, coaches, medical staff have played a massive part in my development and the Swans fans are unbelievable.

“Every time I hear my song sung I have goosebumps. I leave this club with a tear in my eye and a special place for Swansea City in my heart.

“All the boys have been brilliant with me and we have stuck together through good/not so good times.

“I will always watch over and continue to support the club and last time thank you for everything you have done for me.”

Swansea brought in four players on deadline day, taking their total of incomings for the summer to 10.

Joel Latibeaudiere, Kasey Palmer, Ryan Bennett and Ryan Manning all arrived at the Liberty Stadium on the final day of the window, with Rodon the only man to depart.
