Grab a slice of nightlife scene in city

- ROBERT DALLING REPORTER rob.dalling@walesonline.co.uk

FANCY being in charge of your own bar and nightclub at the heart of Swansea’s nightlife capital?

An opportunity arisen to do just that.

Savana, located towards the top end of Wind Street, has gone up for sale for the leasehold price of £360,000.

It is described as an “outstanding opportunity to acquire a prestige venue with high volume of yearround regular and ‘walk in’ trade.”

It is currently operating on wet sales only, and has a purported annual turnover of £249,353. A listing advertising the opportunity states it has “stylish has and spacious four-storey air-conditioned parade premises” and a “superbly fitted and appointed bar with music entertainment, a commercial kitchen and VIP hospitality facilities on a prosperous city centre main circuit.”

The premises also comes with a “versatile” six-bed private/ staff accommodation and “huge scope” for food and extended hours.

It states it is “sensibly priced for genuine sale after many successful years trading in same hands with secure new free-of-tie lease available.”

Wind Street is undergoing considerable change at the moment.

It is having a £3 million upgrade, which Swansea Council say will see lighting improved, new trees and planted areas and more places to sit and relax.

One of Savana’s neighbours, The Perch, meanwhile, has invested heavily in the business during lockdown, spending £150,000 to transform the way it looks inside and double its capacity ready for when it is able to welcome people through its doors again.

The old Revolution, which was around for decades, could soon become a coffee shop, bakery and exhibition space if plans are approved by Swansea Council. Another Wind Street bar that is set for change when we are able to return is La Cantina, which went up for sale back in August last year.
