FANCY being in charge of your own bar and having a front-row seat to sporting fixtures on a weekly basis? An opportunity has arisen allowing you to do just that.

The Lewis Jones Sports Bar in Lime Street, Gorseinon, which overlooks Gorseinon rugby and cricket clubs’ pitches, has gone up for sale for a cool £420,000.

The freehold business has been around since 2007, and outside of coronavirus restrictions trades from 10am until 11.30pm

seven days a week.

It was the first pub to reopen in Swansea last July after the first lockdown, when pubs were allowed to reopen outdoors, and testament to its popularity, some of its loyal customers arrived and bought pitchers of lager by 10am.

Fleurets, which is marketing the pub, says in its advertisement: “Given its sporting heritage, the Lewis Jones is an extremely popular venue for watching sport as well as attracting function trade.”

It is described as a modern purpose-built two-storey building, and is arranged as two bars on the ground floor, with a commercial kitchen and beer store set off the trading areas.

Both bars have access to a large terrace with views on to the rugby and cricket grounds.

The first floor provides large owner’s accommodation and an office, with a balcony overlooking the sports ground.

It is not the only Swansea bar to be put up for sale as of late.

We reported last week how Savana, which is located in Wind Street in the city centre, has been put up for sale for £360,000.
