Crash victim’s injuries may be ‘life-changing’
A 25-YEAR-OLD man has suffered potentially “lifechanging injuries” after a crash in Godre’rgraig.
The man, who police confirmed is from the Ystalyfera area, is currently receiving treatment at the University Hospital of Wales, in Cardiff, following the crash in Neath Port Talbot.
The incident took place on Tuesday at around 5pm on the A4067 at its junction with Church Road and involved a car and a motorcycle.
The stretch of road was closed “for some time” as officers from South Wales Police carried out essential investigation work.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “Officers are investigating a collision between a car and a motorcycle that occurred on the A4067 at Godre’rgraig at its junction with Church Road. A 25-year-old man from Ystalyfera is currently in University Hospital of Wales with potentially lifechanging injuries.”
Police are appealing for anyone who saw two “offroad-style motorcycles” travelling southbound on the A4067 or anyone witnessed or may have footage of the collision to get in touch.
A statement issued on Tuesday read: “We are currently investigating a serious road traffic collision on the A4067 at Godre’rgraig.
“As a result the A4067 is currently closed at its junction with Church Road, and is likely to remain so for some time, to allow for essential investigation work to be conducted.
“Officers are also asking anyone who witnessed, or has footage of, the collision, or who saw two offroad-style motorcycles travelling southbound on the A4067 from Ystylafera at around 5pm this evening (Tuesday) to contact the Western Roads Policing Unit, quoting reference number *110166.”
